Three Must See Places when Visiting South Africa

South Africa is one of the most beautiful vacation destinations out there, with its picturesque landscapes, diverse cultures, utopian-like beaches and romantic sunset safaris where you’ll be able to spot the big five, there is no denying that it seems almost impossible to see everything that South Africa has to offer during a single vacation. To make your lives easier, here are three experiences that you should definitely add to your South African bucket list.

Cable Car up Table Mountain or Hike Lion’s Head, Western Cape

One of the first images that pops into the minds of people when the name Cape Town is mentioned, is that of the breathtakingly beautiful Table Mountain. If hiking isn’t quite your thing, hop into the cable car and take a slow journey up to the top of the mountain, experiencing the 360° views of Cape Town, the ocean and the neighbouring peaks. Once at the top, you are in for one of the most exquisite views you’ll ever see. You’ll feel like the whole of Cape Town is at your feet. Relax with a delicious picnic and watch as the Rock Dassies scamper around blissfully. If hiking is more your cup a’ tea, then the relatively easy hike up to the top of Lion’s Head is just for you.

Shark Cage Diving, Western Cape

The adrenalin junkies will be glad to know that the oceans of Cape Town have an incredibly diverse shark population, with a quarter of the world’s shark species dwelling in the depths. Take the 175km journey from Cape Town to Gansbaai, the Great White Shark capital of the world, and experience the thrills of coming face-to-face with these prehistoric beasts. Just try your best to refrain from humming the Jaws theme tune as the cage is lowered.
